Was given a quick tour of the campus, some interesting places around that I didn't know about before - shops, different cafés, the library and so on. Then, just as I was feeling rather weak and tired, there was a welcome party with free food! I stuffed myself full of as much sushi, tempura, sandwiches, spring rolls, and other things I don't even know the name of as I could handle. All thoroughly delicious; I shall be looking out for certain dishes again so I can find out what they are and where to get them. FYI, in Japan a lot of restaurants have plastic copies of the items on their menu outside on display, so finding "that thing I had at the party" is not such a daunting task as it may at first seem.
My next order of the day was to go to the Ward Office to pick up my National Health Insurance card. I decided to try walking there, but thanks to a travel map and the Hammond travel compass I managed to walk there and back, using the underground stations as landmarks. I felt so proud ^_^! I'm beginning to feel a bit more comfortable speaking Japanese, so I may do alright after all. Want to study up lots and try to get into the higher class... Over and out!
