週末だわ!

Last night, bearing in mind that the only thing I had to go to was at six in the evening, I thought if I slept in a little bit it might help to finally get over my jet lag. It worked - I got up at 8 in the morning... English time >.< That's 4 in the afternoon Japanese time. I had just about properly woken up when I was called upon to help out with the finishing touches to the purin from last night - we arranged oranges on top into a heart shape! Everyone else was finishing off their shizz as well, and before we knew it we were off the Welcome Party!

In the past week and a bit, I have learned many important life lessons. One is, when a beautiful young woman asks you why you're not single, being separated from the person you're in love with by nearly 6000 miles is perhaps not the best answer. Another is, don't go anywhere in Japan without a camera! Even a trip down to the shops may present all kinds of unique scenery or experiences. So sorry all, guess you'll have to wait 'til I turn up on Facebook to see what this party was like >.< In the meantime, allow me to paint a picture of it with words!

Seeing as it was held at an international dormitory, and the theme was "Pot Luck," i.e. bring whatever you can make, there was a great variety of persons and food. Everyone was eatin', drinkin' and havin' fun, though it was quite difficult to try to eat with chopsticks while also holding a plate and can. Suddenly, everyone sat down for a game of bingo! The first prize to be claimed was a subway ticket! Second was a glass with a One Piece design! Third, which I claimed, was a packet of ... something. From what I could understand of the instructions, it's some kind of lurve bath mix that you use with or on the person you like (like, like like) or something. In conclusion, meeting new people and free stuff, so quite a good day.

Something else that was on offer - okonomiyaki, a sort of pancake/omlette
